Frequently Asked Questions
-
Do you take insurance?
The Monarch is a cash-based practice and does not bill insurance directly but you can use Health or Flexible Savings Accounts from your insurance company to provide payment. Upon request, we can also provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. This allows us to provide personalized, one-on-one care without the limitations often imposed by insurance companies.
-
Do I need a referral to schedule?
In Texas, you can be evaluated with a pelvic health therapist without a physician referral. If continued care is needed beyond that window, we will help coordinate a referral from your healthcare provider.
-
Do you offer virtual visits?
Yes! We offer virtual consultations and follow-up visits when appropriate. This can be a great option for education, home program guidance, or progress check-ins.
-
What should I expect during my first visit?
Your initial evaluation will include a thorough conversation about your health history, current symptoms, and goals. A physical assessment will follow, tailored to your needs and comfort level. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan of care. Feel free to wear comfortable cloths or come as you are for your visit. We will adjust to your needs.
-
Can I bring my kids?
Yes, feel free to bring your kids! We understand that finding childcare isn’t always easy, and you are welcome to have your children with you during your visit. If your session includes hands-on treatment or a private assessment, we’ll work with you to ensure both you and your child are comfortable. Bringing snacks, books, or quiet toys can help keep little ones entertained during your appointment.
-
Is an internal pelvic assessment required?
No. While internal assessment (vaginal or rectal) can provide valuable information, it is never required. Your comfort and consent are our top priorities. We’ll explain all options and only proceed with what you feel ready for. There are many effective external techniques we can use to guide your care.
-
Can I still be treated if I am on my period?
Yes! Menstruation does not prevent us from completing most pelvic health treatments or evaluations. We want you to feel comfortable, so if you'd prefer to modify your session or reschedule, just let us know — otherwise, you're absolutely welcome to come as planned.
-
Do you see teens?
Yes. We provide gentle, age-appropriate pelvic health care for adolescents. A parent or guardian must be present for all visits, and a signed consent form is required.
